Mamoonur Rashid Choudhury was born on 1 January 1971 in Rawthi Village of Tarail Upazila, Kishoreganj District. His father, the late Azhar Hossain Choudhury, was a highly educated and respected individual who served as a local Union Parishad Chairman. Growing up in a family engaged in public service played a formative role in shaping his professional and social outlook.

He has built a diverse career across journalism, publishing, broadcasting, and institutional leadership. He worked as Coordinator of Heritage Publication House, Mowla Brothers, and later served as Executive Director of Uttara Hope Hospital & Diagnostics Ltd.

Mamoonur Rashid Choudhury was the Editor and Publisher of Weekly Byatikrom, the first multi-color weekly newspaper of Chittagong. He organized the first Newspaper Publishing Ceremony of Bangladesh on October 10, 1998, held at Saint Martin Hotel, where the then Speaker Advocate Mohammad Abdul Hamid attended as Chief Guest along with other distinguished personalities.

From an early stage of his life, he remained involved in journalism and literary activities. During his school years, he edited a magazine published by Agradut Sangha in 1991, commemorating Victory Day and Amor Ekushe, which included a message from the then President Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed.

His journalism career includes work with national newspapers such as Dainik Janakantha, Weekly Robbar, Amader Shomoy, Dainik Bangla Bazar Potrika, and Dainik Purbokon. He also served as a local correspondent and later Assistant Editor of Bangla Bazar Potrika.

In broadcast media, he has worked as program director, presenter, and producer for several television channels. His programs include DCCI Business Dialogue (NTV), BGMEA Business Talk (Bangla Vision), Shomoyer Songlap (Channel i), and Dristikon (Bangladesh Television). He currently presents a regular business-related television program on GTV.

Mamoonur Rashid Choudhury co-edited the book Architect of Rural Infrastructure Development: Quamrul Islam Siddique, published by Heritage Publication House, Mowla Brothers. He also worked on the publication of Tritio Bissher Sammohani Neta Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, written by Dr. Zillur Rahman Khan, the first academic book on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He is affiliated with professional organizations including the Dhaka Journalists Union, Sub-Editor Council, Bangladesh Chalacchitra Sangbadik Sammiti (BCSS), and Dhaka Shangbadik University Film Society. He is also the Managing Director of Vision Entertainment.

Alongside his professional engagements, he remains actively involved with charitable organizations, including QIS Memorial Foundation and M. Noorul Quader Foundation, and works for the welfare of underprivileged garment workers of Bangladesh.

As Executive Director of the Quamrul Islam Siddique Trust (QIST), Mamoonur Rashid Choudhury is responsible for organizational coordination, publication initiatives, and the continuation of activities aligned with the ideals and legacy of Engr. Quamrul Islam Siddique.
